There are various examples of godly leadership gone bad or crooked in Scripture & if the Scriptures are written for our encouragement (& they are) we can find comfort in the knowledge that God never ever turns a blind eye to sin no matter the place where it dwells & the damage that it does despite the best efforts of leadership to ice the cake in a seemingly presentable way.
It is never enough to say we could have handled it better, or we all sin & seek to rationalise the transgression on one plane & ignore others as if there is a greater good that makes it all good again. Only God alone can do that & He will because He is almighty invisible God only wise & just & true in all His ways.
