My goodness!

A lot of people claim you don’t need God to be good. That’s true by the way, and biblical. But it is also equally true that the road to hell is paved with good intentions and actions.

So you have to ask, why do we need to be good in the first place and where does it fit in the scheme of things. The Bible makes it clear, peace with God only comes through turning to Christ. Trusting in your own form of goodness is rejecting the one thing that really matters the most. The Bible makes a big deal about Jesus of Nazareth. Humanity tends to make a big deal about itself.

So good can be good and bad in this mixed up world and only Jesus can and will make things right again. He is the greater good.

Isaiah 5:20-21. Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight.

Parable of the Wise and Foolish Builders
