Blood Red

The Angel of the Lord was yet to call out or the ram yet to appear… A picture, if you like of Christmas just before Christmas. This is regarding the unfolding promise of God which was first made to Abram (Genesis 12:1-9), then followed up on the historical timeline of humanity up until the incarnation of the Son at Bethlehem.

Genesis 22:1-19

Matthew 1:18-25

The promise now grows in amplification & will soon resonate with the wider audience of the gentiles in the region & further afield within a generation. The call to live by faith & trust in God’s provision goes out to the four corners of the earth. Isaiah 55:1-11

There is just as much significance for Father Abraham & Father Joseph as much as Father Christmas if not more...repeat the sounding joy, we are not abandoned in life or in death. Christ has come, the fulfilment of a promise with much, much more to come.

Glory be to Jesus,
  Who in bitter pains
Poured for me the life-blood
  From His sacred veins.

Grace and life eternal
  In that Blood I find;
Blest be His compassion,
  Infinitely kind.

Blest through endless ages
  Be the precious stream,
Which from endless torments
  Did the world redeem.

Abel’s blood for vengeance
  Pleaded to the skies;
But the blood of Jesus
  For our pardon cries.

It the conscience sprinkles,
  Frees our guilty hearts;
Satan in confusion
  Terror-struck departs.

Oft as earth exulting
  Wafts its praise on high,
Angel-hosts rejoicing
  Make their glad reply.

Lift ye then your voices;
  Swell the mighty flood;
Louder still and louder
  Praise the precious blood.
