Always, always

There is a certain amount of danger in challenging sin or sinfulness, yet equally it would seem in challenging a prophet that has the recognition of a vast amount of people. The religous leaders knew this with their strained relationship with Jesus but it is also clear in the relationship between Herod & John the Baptist.

On Herod’s birthday a celebration is in order, a dance to please the King, an oath promised for the pleasure & an interfering mother gets the head of a critic…The pendulum of Church & state across the face of time may lead to persecution & death at times, but even then & there, God is near...

Matt 14:1-12

Heb 13:1-5

Always, always.
