Meatloaf on the menu @ the Hotel California

I suppose everyone has their very own interpretation of what or where hell is. In light of Scripture it’s a lot more than the hellish suffering that may exist here on earth from an experiential point of view. Suffering here on earth can have its purposes & benefits despite its bitterness or pain.

Hell as a defined eternal position on the other hand has less to do with the devil in the sense that what should be uppermost when considering it is our own personal address under house arrest for eternity.

Hell, heaven, Jesus Christ & the devil are words & phrases commonly used today for all manner of communication, yet probably not very often meditated upon, such is the fickleness of a self assured society in general.

This is not a fire & brimstone sermon but a brief 2.4 minute reflection on the reality of hell as defined by Jesus & taken up by J.I Packer.

Meatloaf ...Bat out of hell, I'll be gone when the morning comes.
Hotel California... Sure you can check out anytime you want, but you can never leave.
